diagonal is 16

its a square so diagonal be hypotenuse

and according to pythagoras theorem

diagonal^2 = a^2 + a^2

(16)^2 = 2a^2

2a^2 = 256

a^2 = 128

a = √128

a = 8√2

a = 8*1.414

a = 11.31

side of square is 11.31 cm

Given : Length of the diagonal of the square = 16 cm

To find : The length of a side of the square.

Solution :

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

Now, we have to use the mathematical relationship between the length of a site and the length of the diagonal of a square, which is -

Diagonal = Side × √2

or,

Side = Diagonal / √2

So, by putting the given values we get,

Side = 16/√2

Side = (8×2)/√2

Side = 8√2 cm

Hence, the length of the side of the given square is 8√2 cm
