Perimeter \:  of  \: square  = 4a

Given  \: p  = 26 \: cm

4a = 26

a =  \frac{26}{4}

a = 6.5 \: cm

Area  \: of  \:  a \: Square \:  A = \:  {a}^{2}

A =  \: ( {6.5)}^{2}

A = 42.25 \:  {cm}^{2}
