find the simple intrest and amount on rs 2000 at6%p.a. from 3rd february 2005 to 17th April 2005​

2005 was a normal year that's why there will be 28 days in the month of February.

Total Time of Interest :

⇝ (Feb. - 3 Days) + March + 17 Days of Apr.

⇝ (28 - 3) + 31 + 17 Days

⇝ 25 + 31 + 17 Days

⇝ 73 Days

  • Converting it into year

⇝ 73 /365 Year

1 /5 Year

⋆ Principal = Rs. 2000

⋆ Rate = 6% p.a.

⋆ Time = 1 /5 Yrs.

Now Calculation of Simple Interest :

⇒ SI = PRT /100

⇒ SI = 2000 × 6 × 1 / 100 × 5

⇒ SI = 20 × 6 / 5

⇒ SI = 4 × 6

SI = Rs. 24

Simple Interest will be Rs. 24 on the sum.

Question = we have to find simple interest .

Given :---

  • Principal = 2000
  • Rate = 6%
  • Time = 3 feb to 17 April

Solution :------

First we have to find exact time in years .

since 2005 is not a leap year, february has 28 days .

Question said from 3rd day onwards

so , feb we have = 26 days now ,

march = 31 days .

April = upto 17 means = 16 days.

Total number of days = 26+31+16 = 73 days .

in one simple year we know that we have = 365 days .

so, 73 days = 73/365 = 1/5 years ...

Now we know that ,

\large\red{\boxed{\sf simple\:interest=\frac{P \times R \times T}{100}}}

Putting values we get,

SI =  \frac{2000 \times 6 \times  \frac{1}{5} }{100}  \\  \\ SI =  \frac{\cancel{400} \times 6} {\cancel{100}}  \\  \\ SI \:  = 24

Now, we know that ,

\red{\bold{Amount=\:Principal\:+SI}}

Amount = 2000+24 = 2024 Rs ..

so, we get 24 Rs. as simple interest and 2024 as amount ..
