Let the market price be Rs. 100
At 10% discount, S.P. = Rs. (100-100×10/100)
= Rs. 90
At 20% discount, S.P. = Rs. (90-90×20/100)
= Rs. 72
Therefore total equivalent discount
= Rs.(100-72)
= Rs. 28
At 10% discount, S.P. = Rs. (100-100×10/100)
= Rs. 90
At 20% discount, S.P. = Rs. (90-90×20/100)
= Rs. 72
Therefore total equivalent discount
= Rs.(100-72)
= Rs. 28
