Find the size,nature and position of the image formed when an object of 1cm height is placed at a distance of 15cm from a concave mirror of focal length 10cm.

Answer :

Here we have H 1 as 1 cm, The distance of the image formed is given as -15 cm.

And the focal length of the object is given as -10 CM.

On applying the lens formula and putting the above given values of you and if we get we or distance of the object as:-

1/v + 1/u = 1/f

⇒ v= -30 cm

Now since we get the value of v as -30.

We can calculate the magnification of the object we get by applying the formula, m = H2/H1H = -v/u.

⇒30/-15

⇒H2 = 2

So from the answers in solutions,

We get we can figure out that the image formed will be real Diminished and inverted.
