Slope of a line is :

\mathsf{m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}}

Given :

x_1=8

x_2=-5

y_1=-9

y_2=3

\textsf{Slope = }\mathsf{\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}}

\implies\mathsf{\frac{3-(-9)}{-5-8}}

\implies\mathsf{\frac{12}{-13}}

\textsf{\huge{\underline{\underline{\boxed{ANSWER}}}}}}

\textsf{The slope of the line is}\mathsf{-\frac{12}{13}}

Hope it helps !
