Answer:

y= x²-1

y will meet x axis at its roots

x²-1=0

(x+1)(x-1)=0

x=1 or -1

Slope when x =1

d/dx(x²-1) at x=1

2x at x=1

2×1=2

therefore slope is 2

and when x= -1

d/dx(x²-1) at x=-1

2x at x=-1

2×(-1)= -2
