Given :-

  • The given points are (4,-8) and (5,-2)

To Find :-

  • What is the slope of the line joining the two given points ?

Formula Used :-

♣️ Slope formula :

\bigstar \: \: \boxed{ \bf \pmb{ \: Slope \: = \: \frac{ y_{2} - y_{1}}{x_{2} - x_{1}} } \: } \: \: \bigstar

Solution :-

Given that,

⟶\;The given points are (4,-8) and (5,-2)

We know that,

  • \sf \pmb{x_{1}}\; = 4
  • \sf \pmb{x_{2}}\; = 5
  • \sf \pmb{y_{1}}\; = -8
  • \sf \pmb{y_{2}}\; = -2

According to the question by using formula we get,

 \displaystyle \: \sf \: \implies \pmb{ \: Slope \: = \: \frac{ y_{2} - y_{1}}{x_{2} - x_{1}} } \:

 \displaystyle \: \sf \: \implies \pmb{ \: Slope \: = \: \frac{ - 2- ( - 8)}{5- 4} } \:

 \displaystyle \: \sf \: \implies \pmb{ \: Slope \: = \: \frac{ - 2 + 8}{1} } \:

 \displaystyle \: \sf \: \implies \pmb{ \: Slope \: = \: \frac{ 6}{1} } \:

 \displaystyle \: \bf \: \implies \pmb{ \red{\: Slope \: = \: 6}} \:

Hence,

  \boxed{  \bf \therefore\pmb{\sf The \:  slope  \: of  \: the \:  line \:  joining \:  the  \: two \:  given \:  points \: is \: 6cm}}
