Slope of pq=-7/4
As it is perpendicular
-7/4*slope=-1
Slope is 4/7
When any two lines intersect each other perpendicularly their slope product is equal to -1

Hi ,

************************
Slope of a line joining the points

A( x1 , y1 ) and B( x2 , y2 )

m = ( y2 - y1 ) / ( x2 - x1 )

**************************

Now ,

Slope of a line joining the points

P ( 0 , 5 ) and Q( 4 , - 2 )

m1 = ( -2 - 5 ) / ( 4 - 0 )

= -7 / 4 ----( 1 )

Slope of the line perpendicular to

PQ = m2

m1 × m2 = -1

( - 7 / 4 ) × m2 = -1

m2 = ( -1 ) ( - 4/7 )

m2 = 4/7

I hope this helps you.
