Step-by-step explanation:

Given Find the slope of the polar of (1, 3) with respect to the circle x square +y square -4x-4y-4=0 Also find the distance from the centre to it.

  • Now equation of the circle will be x^2 + y^2 – 4x – 4y – 4 = 0, centre C = (2,2)
  • Now given Polar of (1,3) is 0
  • Now the equation will be
  • So xx1 + yy1 – 4(x1 + x2 / 2) – 4(y1 + y2 / 2) – 4 = 0
  • So x x 1 + y x 3 – 2(x + 1) – 2(y + 3) – 4 = 0
  • So x + 3y – 2x – 2 – 2y – 6 – 4 = 0
  • So – x + y – 12 = 0
  • Or x – y + 12 = 0
  • Now distance from the centre will be
  • C(2,2) = l – 2 + 2 – 12 / √1 + 1  l
  •          = 12 / √2
  •            = 3 √2
