Find the slope of the tangent to the curve y=x^2-4x+5 at x=-2l​

Answer:

The given line is 2y+x=7.

Slope of the above line =2−1

Thus the slope of the line tangent perpendicular to  above line is 2.

The given curve,

y=x2−4x+5...(i)

Slope is  given by y′.

Differentiate (i) with respect  to  x.

y′=2x−4

Equate this slope  to 2.

Thus,

y′=2x−4=2⇒x=3
