We should add -4 to get perfect sq.
When we use division method we found that -4 is remaining
So we add 4 in 252
      252 + 4  = 256
      √256 = 16

Answer:

The required number to make 252 a perfect square is 7.

Step-by-step explanation:

First of all, taking L.C.M of the given number 252 to achieve smallest number.

252 = 2*2*3*3*7

So after calculating the L.C.M of 252, we've noticed that 2 & 3 are in pairs and the number 7 is the only unpaired number. So multiplying the number 252 with 7, we'll get;

252*7 = 2*2*3*3*7*7

1764 = 2*2*3*3*7*7

which is a perfect square.
