The smallest number that is divisible by 3,4, and 12 would be the lowest common multiplier (LCM) of the three numbers 3,4, and 12. The LCM is found as follows:

3 = 3x1

4=2x2

12 = 2x2x3

From above, it is seen that the common factors are 2, 2 and 3. So,

LCM = 2x2x3 = 12

You can easily verify that 12 is the smallest number that is divisible by each of the given numbers 3,4 and 12. (Proved)
