Find the smallest number which when divided by 12, 16 and 18 leaves a remainder of 22

First we have to find the LCM of 12, 16 and 18.

LCM by prime factorization method

12 = 2×2×3

16 = 2×2×2×2

18 = 2×3×3

LCM = 2×2×2×2×3×3 = 144.

Add remainder 22 to the LCM = 144 + 22 = 166

The smallest number is 166.
