Given:

  • A smallest number increased by 11 is exactly divisible by both 154 and 220.

To Find:

  • The smallest number.

Solution:

Let's assume smallest number is x

⇒        When increased by 11,

       Number becomes ( x + 11)

This increased number exactly divisible by both 154 and 220.

So,

                x+11 is the LCM of 154 and 220

                 LCM of 154 and 220  1540

Now,

⇒      1540 = x + 11

          x = 1540 - 11

          x = 1529

Thus, The smallest number is 1529.
