Hey !!!

For finding the smallest possible lenght of scale .

we can find the lcm of 64 , 80 , 96

let us see ,

How I do .

64 = 2× 2×2×2×2×2
80 = 2× 2× 2× 2 ×5
96 = 2× 2× 2× 2× 2× 3

now , we saw ,

there is 4 times 2 common in each case .and remaining 2 ,2, 5, 2, 3

so, the lcm is

so, 2×2×2× 2 × 2 ×2× 3×5

2^6 × 3× 5 =960

960cm = 9 .6m Answer

hope it helps you !!!

Heya !!!

This is Your Answer...

To find the smallest possible length, We have to take out LCM ..

So, LCM of 64, 80 and 96 is ...
64 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 = 2⁶
80 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 5 = 2⁴ × 5
96 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 = 2₅ × 3
LCM (64, 80, 96) = 2⁶ × 3 × 5 = 960.

Hence, the smallest possible length of scale to measure exactly 64 cm,80 cm and 96 cm is 960 cm or 9.6 m.

Hope It Helps
