-2x\: +\:\dfrac{5}{3}x\: &lt; \: \dfrac{11}{2}\: -\:5

\dfrac{-x}{3} \: &lt; \: \frac{1}{2}

-x\: &lt; \: \dfrac{3}{2}

x\: &gt; \:\dfrac{-3}{2}

x \: &gt; \: -1.5

Therefore, the smallest value of x = -1
