To find

The factor by quadratic formula.

Solution

Quadratic formula

\frac{-b\pm{\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}}{2a}

Or

\frac{-b\pm{\sqrt{D}}}{2a}

Also

D=b²-4ac

So finding discriminant

D=-13²-4×3×-100

=169+1200

putting the value in quadratic formula

\implies\frac{-b\pm{\sqrt{D}}}{2a}

\implies\frac{13\pm{\sqrt{1369}}}{2\times3}

Taking plus value

X=\frac{13+37}{6}

X=\frac{50}{6}

Taking negative value

X=\frac{13-37}{6}

X=\frac{-24}{6}
