EXPLANATION.

Graph of the equation.

⇒ 2x - y = 2. - - - - - (1).

⇒ 4x - y = 4. - - - - - (2).

As we know that,

From equation (1), we get.

⇒ 2x - y = 2. - - - - - (1).

Put the value of x = 0 in equation, we get.

⇒ 2(0) - y = 2.

⇒ - y = 2.

⇒ y = -2.

Their Co-ordinates = (0,-2).

Put the value of y = 0 in equation, we get.

⇒ 2x - (0) = 2.

⇒ 2x = 2.

⇒ x = 1.

Their Co-ordinates = (1,0).

From equation (2), we get.

⇒ 4x - y = 4. - - - - - (2).

Put the value of x = 0 in equation, we get.

⇒ 4(0) - y = 4.

⇒ - y = 4.

⇒ y = -4.

Their Co-ordinates = (0,-4).

Put the value of y = 0 in equation, we get.

⇒ 4x - (0) = 4.

⇒ 4x = 4.

⇒ x = 1.

Their Co-ordinates = (1,0).

Both curves intersects at a point = (1,0).
