x+y =16

x= 16-y ---------- ( I )

x-y =4 (through substitution method)

(16-y)-y = 4

16-y -y = 4

16-2y =4

-2y = 4-16

-2y = -12

y = -12/-2

y = 6

substituting the value of y in eq ( I )

x = 16-y

x = 16- 6

x = 10

Answer:

done

Step-by-step explanation:

x+y =16

x= 16-y ---------- ( I )

x-y =4 (through substitution method)

(16-y)-y = 4

16-y -y = 4

16-2y =4

-2y = 4-16

-2y = -12

y = -12/-2

y = 6

substituting the value of y in eq ( I )

x = 16-y

x = 16- 6

x = 10
