   ∴ y = 0

   Putting value of y in equation (1),

   ⇒ x + 2 (0) = 8

   x + 0 = 8

   ∴ x = 8.

(ii) The given equation represents the point on y axis.

    ∴ x = 0

    Putting value of x in equation (1),

    ⇒ 0 + 2 y = 8

    y = 8 / 2

    ∴ y = 4.
