Step-by-step explanation:

x+2y=5. and 7x+3y=13... multiply by equation (1) by7 and equation (2) (x+2y=5)×7=7x+14y=35 ...3. (7x+3y=13)×-1 =-7x-3y=-13....4. add question 3rd and 4th. 7x+14y=35. -7x-3y=-13. =====11y=22. y=2 putting equation 3. x+2(2)=5. x=5-4. x=1 solve

Given:

  • Pair of linear equation x+2y=5 and 7x+3y=13.

To find:

  • The solution of the given pair of linear equations.

Solution:

Given,

  • x + 2y = 5 -----(1)
  • 7x + 3y = 13---(2)

Multiplying equation (1) by 7,

⟼ (x+2y= 5)×7

⟼ 7x+14y=35----(3)

Multiplying equation(2) by -1,

⟼(7x + 3y = 13)× -1

⟼ -7x -3y = -13

Adding equation(3)&(4),

7x+14y=35

-7x -3y=-13

     11y = 22

⇒y = 22/11

y =2

Substituting value of y in equation(1),

⟼ x + 2y = 5

⟼ x + 2(2) = 5

⟼ x + 4 = 5

⟼ x = 5-4

x = 1

Therefore,the solution of the linear equations are x = 1 & y=2

★Verification★

Substituting value of x & y in the given equations,

➩x + 2y = 5

➩1 + 2(2) = 5

➩1 + 4 = 5

5 = 5

➩7x + 3y = 13

➩7(1) +  3(2) = 13

➩7 + 6 = 13

13 = 13

Hence verified !
