proof: in triangle aop

ap is equal to 4 cm ( line drawn from the centre of a circle to a chord is perpendicular to it and divides it in 2 equal parts)

by Pythagoras theorem

ao 2 = ap2 + op2

ao 2 = 16 + 9

= 25

ao = 5

but ao is diameter of the larger circle therefore

2ao = diameter

2×5= 10

diameter of the larger circle is 10
