Solution :

Given system of equations

-2x-6y=-16 ----( 1 )

4x-6y=-58 -----( 2 )

Subtract (1) from (2 ) , we get

6x = -42

=> x = (-42)/6

=> x = -7

Substitute x = -7 in equation

( 1 ) , we get

-2(-7) - 6y = -16

=> 14 - 6y = -16

=> -6y = -16 - 14

=> -6y = - 30

=> y = (-30)/(-6)

=> y = 5

Therefore ,

x = -7 , y = 5
