nd x-y =1

x+y=5

x-y=1

+y and -y gets cancelled in adding both the equations..

hence 2x=6 so x=3

substituting this value of x in any one of the equation, we get y=3..

(if i put x as 3 in the equation x+y=5 then y becomes 2..)

hence x is 3 and y us 2..

hope it helps !

Answer:

X=3 & Y= 2

Step-by-step explanation:

X+Y=5------(1)

X-Y=1-------(2)

FROM 2

X=1+Y-------(3)

PUT THIS VALUE OF 3 IN 1

X+Y=5

1+Y+Y=5

1+2Y=5

Y=(5-1)/2=4/2=2

Now put the Value of Y in equation 3 We Obtained

X=1+Y=1+2=3
