When we graph inequalities such as greater/less than, we use dashed lines instead of solid ones, and shade the corresponding side.

With x > -1, you would make a dashed vertical line down at x-coordinate -1 and shade the right sides (since the right would be greater than -1). Hold off on the shading for now because it looks like we have to include the other inequality as well.

With y < -2x + 5, graph the line just like, y = -2x + 5, only again using a dashed line. Since the inequality shows less than, you would shade to the underside of that, but don't shade that's entirety.

The proper shaded area is going to be the area that is BOTH to the right of the first inequality AND to the underside of the second.

Side note: I don't know if your teacher explained it, but the reason we use dashed lines in this case instead of solid ones is because possible solutions do not actually lie on the line. If we have x>-1, then solutions would include -0.9, -0.999, and -0.99999999999999999999999999. What wouldn't be a solution? Negative one, because -1 is not less than -1.
