Let the radius of circle be a

Length of rectangle = 4a

Width of rectangle = 2a

Area of rectangle = 4a × 2a = 8a^2

Area of shaded region = Area of rectangle - 2 × Area of circle

= 8a^2 - 2 pi a^2

= 8a^2 - 44a^2 /7

= (56a^2 - 44a^2) / 7

= 12a^2 / 7

Required ratio = 8a^2 : 12a^2 / 7

= 8a^2 × 7 / 12a^2

= 8 × 7 / 12

= 56 / 12

= 14 / 3

= 14 : 3

Hey!!

Let the radius of circle be a
Length of rectangle = 4a
Width of rectangle = 2a
Area of rectangle = 4a × 2a = 8a^2
Area of shaded region = Area of rectangle - 2 × Area of circle
= 8a^2 - 2 pi a^2
= 8a^2 - 44a^2 /7
= (56a^2 - 44a^2) / 7
= 12a^2 / 7
Required ratio = 8a^2 : 12a^2 / 7
= 8a^2 × 7 / 12a^2
= 8 × 7 / 12
= 56 / 12
= 14 / 3
= 14 : 3
Hope this helps you ☺☺
