EXPLANATION.

Solution of pair of linear equation.

⇒ 2y - 3x = 7. - - - - - (1).

⇒ 4x + 7y = 120. - - - - - (2).

As we know that,

Multiply equation (1) by 4.

Multiply equation (2) by 3.

⇒ 2y - 3x = 7. - - - - - (1).  x  4

⇒ 4x + 7y = 120. - - - - - (2).  x  3.

We get,

⇒ 8y - 12x = 28. - - - - - (1).

⇒ 12x + 21y = 360. - - - - - (2).

Adding equation (1) and (2), we get.

⇒ 29y = 388.

⇒ y = 13.379.

Put the value of y = 13.379 in the equation (2), we get.

⇒ 4x + 7y = 120.

⇒ 4x + 7(13.379) = 120.

⇒ 4x + 93.653 = 120.

⇒ 4x = 120 - 93.653.

⇒ 4x = 26.347.

⇒ x = 6.586

Values of x = 6.586 and y = 13.379.
