$x = \frac{-b+\sqrt{b^{2}-4.a.c } }{2.a}$    and   $x = \frac{-b-\sqrt{b^{2}-4.a.c } }{2.a}$

for roots we check discriminant " D " :

$D=b^{2} -4.a.c$                   { a = 1 , b = 3 , c = 10 from equation (1.) }

$D=3^{2} -4.1.10$

$D=-31$

As " D " is negative , roots are not real .
