Find the some of 2.57 and 0.4 in decimal

write 2.57 as 257/100 and then 0.4 as 4/10 .
Then take Lcm of 10 & 100 which will be 100 .
Then add as we do in fraction .

Though the sum of these two integers will be
2.57+0.4=2.97
