1) According to the equation , given that -

a = 2 , d = a2 - a1 = 5-2 = 3 , n = 9

So , according to the formula =

an = a + (n-1) d

a9 = 2 + (9-1)(3)

a9 = 2 + 8×3

a9 = 2 + 24

a9 = 26

So , 9th term of arithmetic sequence = 26

2) a = 3 , d = 5-3 = 2 , n = 20

an = a + (n-1)(d)

a20 = 3 + (20-1)(2)

a20 = 3 + 19×2

a20 = 3 + 38

a20 = 41

So , 20th term of arithmetic sequence = 41

3) a = 1 , d = 1/2 - 1 = -1/2 , n = 16

an = a + (n-1)(d)

a16 = 1 + (16-1)(-1/2)

a16 = 1 + 15×-1/2

a16 = 1 - 15/2

a16 = -13/2

So , 16th term of arithmetic sequence = -13/2
