Let the first term be a=10 ,
And common difference d= -12

:. 17th term = 10 + ( 17 -1 ) ( -12 )

=10 - (16×12)

First term => a => 10
Common Difference => d => -2 - 10 => -12

Hence,

17th term = a + 16d
                 = 10 + 16(-12)
                 = 10 - 192
                 = -182
