Speed of sound varies with temperature. It increases with increase in temperature. On an average for every 1°C change in temperature, speed of sound increases by 0.61 m/s. It can be given mathematically as

V(t) = v(0) + 0.61t

In this case v(0) is equal to 332 m/s. Temperature change is 20°C. Therefore speed of sound at 20°C is

332+(0.61×20)= 332+12.2= 334.2m/s
