Solution -

using identity (a+ b)^2 = a^2 + b^2 + 2ab

i) (4a+ b)^2

4a^2 + b^2 + 2(4a)(b)

16a^2 + b^2 + 8ab

ii) (2a- 7b)^2

2a^2 + 7b^2 - 2( 2a) (7b)

4a^2 + 49b^2 - 28ab
