Solution:

Square root symbol is known as radical. Using square root symbol we only get positive or zero result.

Perfect squares are also called square numbers which are squares of integers. Square roots of negative numbers can be calculated using complex number.

\begin{array}{l}{\sqrt{n}=n^{2}} \\ {\sqrt{n^{2}}=n}\end{array}

Example: \sqrt{7}=7^{2}=49

Similarly in our current question we have, \sqrt{2}=1.414

Because \sqrt{1.414}=1.414 \times 1.414=2.00 (approx).

To calculate the  \bold{\sqrt{2}} up to three decimal places we get 1.414.
