this can be compared with

${x}^{2} + {y}^{2} + 2xy = {( x + y)}^{2}$

so, x= y

y = 1/y

so formula gives us

${( y + \frac{1}{y} )}^{2}$

now root of this term is

$\sqrt{ {(y + \frac{1}{y} })^{2} }$

root and square cancel each other and we left with

$(y + \frac{1}{y} )$

only.
