Know more!

  • Square of a number means multiplying the number by itself 2 times. Remember that 1 has no square number,as you know if we will multiply 1 by itself it will remain same.
  • Eg: 2×2= 4
  • 10×10= 100 and so on....
  • There are 2 identities by which u can find a square of any number. Those identities are

{(a+b)}^{2}= {a}^{2}+{2ab}+{b}^{2}

{(a-b)}^{2}= {a}^{2}-{2ab}+{b}^{2}

  • Eg Find the square of 103

Sol- (100+3)

By using identity 1

 {(a+b)}^{2}= {a}^{2}+{2ab}+{b}^{2}

 {1000+3)}^{2}= {(100)}^{2}+{2}\:100\:time3}+ {3}^{2}

 = 10000+600+9 = 10609
