Given equation is 4x2 + 24xy + 11y2 = 0
Here a = coeff. of x2 = 4, b = coeff. of y2 = 11
and 2h = coeff. of xy = 24
∴ h = 12
Where θ is the acute angle between the lines.
∴ acute angle between the lines is tan–1 (4/3) and obtuse angle between them is π – tan–1(4/3).
