Question:

Find the sum and product of the zeroes of x²-9x+14.

To Find:

The sum and product of two zeroes of the polynomials.

Concept:

By middle-splitting theorem:

Solution:

x^{2} - 9x + 14

LCM of 14 is 7 , 2...

x^{2} - (7 + 2)x + 14

x^{2} - 7x - 2x + 14

x(x - 7) - 2(x - 7)

Taking the common:

(x - 7)(x - 2)

\therefore x = 7 ; x = 2

Sum :

7 + 2 = 9

Product:

7 × 2 = 14
