find the sum and product of zeros of the polynomial 8x²-18x-5​

8x² - 18x - 5

Now we can use the middle splitting term for this equation we have ,

8x² - 20x + 2x - 5

4x(2x - 5) +1 (2x - 1)

FROM THIS WE HAVE TWO ZEROS OF THIS POLYNOMIAL THAT IS ,

2x - 5 = 0

2x = 5

x = 5/2

AND

4x + 1 = 0

4x = -1

x = -1/4

Now ,

Sum of zeros = 5/2 + ( -1/4 )

= 9/4

Product of zeros = 5/2 × ( -1/4 )

= -5/8
