➤ Answer :-

{\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{( - 3)}{7} + \dfrac{2}{14}}

Convert them into like fractions by taking the LCM of the denominators i.e, 7 and 14........

LCM of 7 and 14 is 14.

{\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{( - 3) \times 2}{7 \times 2} + \dfrac{2}{14}}

{\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{( - 6)}{14} + \dfrac{2}{14} = \dfrac{( - 6) + 2}{14}}

{\tt \longrightarrow \cancel\dfrac{( - 4)}{14}  = \dfrac{( - 2)}{7}}

More to know....................

  • While adding or subtracting the fractions, if the given fractions are having different denominators i.e, if they are unlike fractions, we should convert them into like fractions by taking the LCM of the denominators.
  • While adding or subtracting the fractions, if the given fractions are having same denominators i.e, if they are like fractions, we can solve them easily.
