We have:

\dfrac{5}{17} ,\dfrac{2}{3} and \dfrac{15}{7}

We have to find, the sum of \dfrac{5}{17} ,\dfrac{2}{3} and \dfrac{15}{7}.

Solution:

\dfrac{5}{17} +\dfrac{2}{3}+\dfrac{15}{7}

The LCM of 17, 3 and 7

= 17 × 3 × 7 = 357 [ ∵ 17, 3 and 7 are prime numbers]

= \dfrac{21\times 5+119\times 2+51\times 15}{357}

= \dfrac{105+238+765}{357}

= \dfrac{1108}{357}

Thus, the sum of \dfrac{5}{17} ,\dfrac{2}{3} and \dfrac{15}{7} is \dfrac{1108}{357} .

Given :  5/17, 2/3 and 15/7

To Find : Sum

Solution:

5/17, 2/3 and 15/7

Sum

= 5/17   + 2/3  +  15/7

To add these we will have all term with same denominator

Denominator would be LCM of 17 , 3 , 7

as all are prime numbers Hence

LCM =  3x 7 x 17

5/17    = (5/17  ) ((3x 7 x 17 )/  (3x 7 x 17) )  = (5 x 3x 7 )/  (3x 7 x 17) )

= 105/357

2/3     = (2/3   ) ((3x 7 x 17 )/  (3x 7 x 17) )  = (2 x 7x 17 )/  (3x 7 x 17) )

= 238/357

15/7    = (15/7  ) ((3x 7 x 17 )/  (3x 7 x 17) )  = (15 x 3x 17 )/  (3x 7 x 17) )

= 765/357

105/358  + 238/357 + 765/357

= (105 + 238 + 765 )/357

= 1108/357

5/17   + 2/3  +  15/7  = 1108/357
