We have 2,3,4,4

When we take all distinct 4 digit numbers using there digits, it is only obvious that 4 will be in units place in 2/4 of these, while 2 or 3 will be in units place in 1/4 (each) of these.

Clearly, there are total 4!/2! = 12 such numbers.

Adding the units place of these

= 12 * 1 [ 1/4*2 +1/4*3 +2/4*4]

= 12a

Similarly adding ten digits,

= 12*10*a (an additional 10 because of it being the teens digit)

Adding hundred and thousands digit as well,

We get 12a[1+10+100+1000]

= 1111*12(a)

where a is 1/4*2 + 1/4*3 +2/4*4= 13/4

Answer comes out to be 43,329
