Required Answer :

The sum of the perimeter of the regular hexagon and the square = 112 cm

Given :

  • Side of a regular hexagon = 12 cm
  • Side of a square = 10 cm

To find :

  • The sum of the perimeter of the regular hexagon and the square

Solution :

Here, in this question we are provided the side of a regular hexagon and a square and we need to calculate the sum of their perimeters. Perimeter is the sum of all the sides.

Formula to calculate the perimeter of a regular hexagon :-

  • Perimeter = 6a

Formula to calculate the perimeter of a square :-

  • Perimeter = 4a

where,

  • a denotes the side

Solution :

Calculating the perimeter of regular hexagon :

⇒ Perimeter of hexagon = 6a

⇒ Substituting the given values :

⇒ Perimeter of hexagon = 6 × 12

⇒ Perimeter of hexagon = 72

  • The perimeter of regular hexagon = 72 cm

Calculating the perimeter of square :

⇒ Perimeter of square = 4a

⇒ Substituting the given values :

⇒ Perimeter of square = 4 × 10

⇒ Perimeter of square = 40

  • The perimeter of square = 40 cm

Sum of the perimeter of the regular hexagon and the square :

⇒ Perimeter of hexagon + Perimeter of square :

⇒ 72 + 40

⇒ 112

Therefore, the sum of the perimeter of the regular hexagon and the square = 112 cm

Answer:

Given that,

Perimeter of regular pentagon of side 12 cm= Perimeter of regular Hexagon

⟹5×12=6a

⟹60=6a

⟹a=

6

60

∴a=10 cm

i.e., Side of regular Hexagon =10 cm
