The sum of the deviations of the variable from the mean is 0.

The given variables are 3,4,6,7,8,14

Mean of the variables = sum of the variables / total number of variables

=> (3+4+6+7+8+14)/6

=> 42/6

=> 7

Deviation of a variable from the mean = value of the variable - mean

Sum of the deviation of the variables from the mean = (3-7) + (4-7) + (6-7) + (7-7) + (8-7) + (14-7)

=> 0
