Note -

“dm” refers to "Deci Meter"

Solution -

Each Edge of cube = 1.2 dm

= (1.2 × 10) cm

= 12 cm

We know,

Surface Area of a Cube = 6 × (edge)^2

Therefore,

Surface Area of the given cube

= [6 × (12)^2] cm^2

= [6 × 144] cm^2

= 864 cm^2

= (864 / 100) dm^2

= 8.64 dm^2

Hence, the surface area of the given cube is 864 cm^2 or 8.64 dm^2
