Given :

  • Height of Cylinder = 40inch
  • Diameter of Cylinder = 12inch

To Find :

  • Total Surface Area of Cylinder

Solution :

Radius of the Cylinder :

⠀⟶⠀Diameter = 2 × Radius

⠀⟶⠀12 = 2 × Radius

⠀⟶⠀12/2 = Radius

⠀⟶⠀6 inch = Radius

Total Surface Area of Cylinder :

⠀⟶⠀TSA of Cylinder = 2πr (h + r)

⠀⟶⠀TSA of Cylinder = 2π × 6 (40 + 6)

⠀⟶⠀TSA of Cylinder = 2π × 6 × 46

⠀⟶⠀TSA of Cylinder = 2π × 276

⠀⟶⠀TSA of Cylinder = 2 × 22/7 × 276

⠀⟶⠀TSA of Cylinder = 44/7 × 276

⠀⟶⠀TSA of Cylinder = 44 × 276/7

⠀⟶⠀TSA of Cylinder = 12144/7

⟶⠀TSA of Cylinder = 1734.85inches

∴ TSA of Cylinder is 1734.85inches

Additional Info :

  • Volume of Cylinder = πr²h
  • CSA of Cylinder = 2πrh
  • TSA of Cylinder = 2πr (h + r)
  • Area of Top of Cylinder = πr²
  • Area of Base of Cylinder = πr²
