Question:

Find the surface area of a sphere with a diameter of 8 m.

Given:

Diameter of sphere= 8m

To Find:

Surface area of Sphere

Formula to be Used:

 \mathsf{Surface \:  area \:  of  \: Sphere=4πr²}

Solution:

To find the surface area of sphere we have to conver diameter into radius.

 \mathsf{d = 2r}

where, d is Diameter and r is Radius.

  \implies\mathsf{8=2r}

 \implies   \large\mathsf{\frac{8}{2} = r}

 \implies  \mathsf{=4 r}

Now, Using formula we get,

---›\mathsf{Surface\: area\: of\: sphere=4πr²}

Using value of π as 3.14 then,

\mathsf{Surface\: area\: of\: sphere=4\times 3.14\times 4²}

\mathsf{Surface\: area\: of\: sphere=12.56\times 16}

---›\mathsf{Surface\: area\: of\: sphere=200.96}

\therefore The Surface area of sphere is 200.96 m.

More to know:

\mathsf{>Volume\: of\: sphere=\large\frac{4}{3}πr³}
