Given :

  • side of the cube 'A' is 10cm
  • side of the cube 'B' is 8cm

To find :

(a) the surface area of cube ‘A’

(b) lateral surface area of cube 'B

Solution :

(a) Surface area of cube = 6a²

surface area of cube 'A' = 6(10)²

= 6(100) = 600cm.

(b) lateral surface area of cube = 4a²

lateral surface area of cube 'B' = 4(8)²

= 4(64) = 256cm.

\thereforeThe surface area of cube ‘A’ is 600cm and lateral surface area of cube 'B' is 256cm.
