Answer:

The surface area of the largest sphere is 55.3896 centimeter square.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The right circular cylinder of diameter 4.2 cm and height 6 cm.

To find : The surface area of the largest sphere carved from the right circular cylinder?

Solution :

The largest sphere carved from the right circular cylinder will have the diameter equal to diameter of base of cylinder.

Diameter of sphere = 4.2 cm

r=\frac{d}{2}=\frac{4.2}{2}=2.1

Radius of sphere is 2.1 cm.

The formula of surface area of sphere is SA=4\pi r^2

Substitute, radius r=2.1 cm in the formula,

SA=4\times 3.14\times (2.1)^2

SA=12.56\times 4.41

SA=55.3896 cm^2

Therefore, The surface area of the largest sphere is 55.3896 centimeter square.
